On Saturday 11 July 2015, 7.30pm, at the Stade outdoor performance area in Hastings Old Town, Tymon will be performing first in the collaborative performance, ‘A Wave of Dreams’ and then doing a solo spot. This gig is totally free thanks to Hastings Borough Council.
‘A Wave of Dreams’ is a mesmerising performance of Louis Aragon’s 1924 eponymous prose-poem-essay set in evocative psychedelic soundscapes that truly bring it alive.
The text is a compelling, lyrical first-hand account of the early days of surrealist experimentation in Paris. Aragon vividly describes and philosophically evaluates the inner adventures, hallucinations and encounters with ‘the Marvellous’ which took the young surrealists to the brink of insanity.
The performance is a collaboration with composer and musician Alex Thomas and actor Alex Walker. Tymon composed and performs approximately half of the work. There will be a guest appearance by poet/actor Niall McDevitt.
Tymon’s solo spot will feature several songs from his new album ‘Made of Light’ and is described in the brochure as ‘a rare chance to witness Tymon’s truly unique solo work’.
Nichola Bruce’s short film based on an extract from ‘A Wave of Dreams’ will be screened before and after the performances.
